Trying to balance body, mind, and soul is a challenge for the ages. As women, we have so many demands on our time and energy. How do we find balance while giving ourselves grace and love? This is a space I hope we can join together to find that balance while enjoying our natural beauté.
Almost 10 years ago I developed fibromyalgia. At the time I was working hard as a hair stylist and manager of a salon, over the next few months my whole life came to a screeching halt and drastically changed. Around the same time I endured my first miscarriage and we started our journey into the world of infertility. I was loosing my identity as a female and struggling to find my purpose as a wife and a strong woman.
Over the last 10 years I have endured and enjoyed many ups and downs, from battling endometriosis, to the miracle of adopting our daughter, to conquering fibromyalgia, to redefining ourselves after unemployment. Through it all I have found that finding balance is the way to survival. That during the good and the bad times, when I take the time to take care of myself I can serve my family and community better. For me that means exercising even when it’s hard, eating wholesome nutritious food, getting dressed in the morning, taking the time to do my hair and makeup. Nourishing myself mind, body and soul help me find balance and make it through each day.
